Putting It Into Practice

1

Coordinate on logistics and scheduling:

Work with the district to finalize the Design Experience calendar, confirm session timing, and ensure school teams are looped in.

2

Align on roles and responsibilities:

Clarify how you and the district team will support schools, who owns what (e.g., communication, follow-ups, logistics), and how you’ll stay in sync throughout the phase.

3

Study each school’s context:

Review the Education Opportunity Audit (EOAA), School Readiness Assessment (SRA), and any district-provided materials. Make note of patterns, questions, or insights you want to elevate during the work.

4

Develop Design Journey Notebooks:

Customize the Design Journey Notebook based on the community context and make digital copies for each school team to support their reflection, capture insights, and track progress through the Design Experiences.

5

Review exemplar resources:

Look at high-quality examples of Cases for Change, Stakeholder Engagement Plans, or early drafts of Model-at-a-Glance to build clarity on what “strong” looks like.

6

Internalize XQ’s Design Principles and Learner Outcomes:

These will be core to every Design Experience. Practice explaining them clearly.
