Shared Milestone
Design Experience 2
Overview
During Design Experience 2: Developing a Bold School Concept, you will take all the learning from your community engagement activities and inspiration visits and embark on crafting your Bold School Concept. As grounding, you will explore two XQ Design Principles—Strong Mission & Culture and Caring, Trusting Relationships—and the XQ Learner Outcomes and Competencies.
This experience sets the stage for gathering crucial feedback from the community regarding your Model-at-a-Glance, reinforcing the iterative, community-based nature of the design process. You will leave Day B prepared to share your drafts with the community.
Outputs
- Strengthened Case for Change: A refined Case for Change will clearly capture community voices, compelling reasons for redesign, and your school’s vision for change.
- Draft Model-at-a-Glance: A Draft Model-at-a-Glance is a visual representation of your school’s Bold School Concept showing central pillars informed by community input and research insights.
- Community Engagement Plan: This Community Engagement Plan is an outline of next steps for engaging stakeholders, including families, students, educators, and community members.
- Design Principle Executive Summary: The Design Principle Executive Summary is a one-page synthesis detailing how your emerging vision aligns explicitly with XQ Design Principles.
