Checking In With School and District Teams

Overview

In the final stretch before presentations, you will check in with school and district teams to offer targeted support. These touchpoints provide an opportunity to assess readiness, reinforce momentum, and resolve last-minute blockers. You will help ensure each school team is prepared to confidently present their Bold School Concept and Path to Success—and that district stakeholders are aligned and ready to champion the work.

Outputs

Putting It Into Practice

Check in with the school team:

Schedule a touchpoint before the presentation. This can be a short email, phone call, or virtual meeting based on the team’s preferences. Use the checklist in the Design Journey Notebook to review progress together and surface any remaining needs.

  • Ask about progress on:
    • Revising Bold School Concept artifacts, using the rubric for alignment and completeness
    • Finalizing presentation content and format (e.g., poster, slides, video)
    • Integrating community voice: How are students, families, and local partners reflected in the story?
    • Invitations to stakeholders and clarity on district presence at the presentation
  • Offer support where it’s needed most: Adapt your role to the team’s needs—some may want detailed coaching or feedback on slides, while others may just need encouragement. Offer:
    • Thought partnership around crafting a clear, compelling narrative that reflects the “why” behind their design
    • Support using the Bold School Concept Rubric to check for coherence, completeness, and alignment
    • Suggestions for integrating community voice in authentic and specific ways
    • Exemplars, templates, or feedback on storytelling and artifact design
    • An invitation to do a practice run-through (and join, if helpful)
  • Celebrate progress: Acknowledge how far the team has come—from the early stages of visioning to a polished, powerful concept. Reinforce confidence and momentum as they prepare to share their Bold School Concept.

Coordinate with the district team: Share updates on team readiness. Align on who will be present at the presentation, including key stakeholders who can support implementation. Suggest additional attendees the district may not have considered—especially those who could become champions of the work.
